About Humanity Asks
Decisions about artificial intelligence and our digital future are being made now. They are shaping how we work, learn, govern and look after one another. These are not only technical questions. They are questions about the kind of world we want, and everyone has a stake in the answers.
Humanity Asks gives everyone a way to think these questions through, take a position, and be counted.
How it works
Each topic begins with one question about AI and the digital transition.
- You answer first by instinct, in fifteen seconds.
- Where a topic includes arguments, you weigh each one and say whether it holds.
- You answer the question again, with time, and say how strongly you hold your position.
Your considered answer joins the public pulse: the live result of everyone who has taken part. When your thinking changes, you can change your answer. Your earlier answers stay in a private history that only you can see.
What makes it different
- Participation is free. Answering, seeing the result, keeping your history, downloading your data and deleting your account cost nothing.
- Every vote is real. We never add invented votes, and no payment buys an answer, an edit or extra weight.
- Each account has one current answer per question. How strongly you hold it is recorded and never changes the count.
- Your answers are yours. We do not sell them, use them for political targeting, or use them to train AI models.
Reflect together
Circles is a paid subscription for friends, families and teams who want to answer the same questions in private and see their own result. Organizations run their own workspace and ask their own people. Answers in a circle stay there and never add to the public result. Answers in an organization stay there too, unless the person who gave them adds them to Pulse. A circle shows a result from 5 answers and does not set a different number. An organization shows a result for everyone from 10 answers. A question asked of one group uses the number that group sets, from 2 to 2000, starting at 10. These thresholds are not a guarantee of anonymity.
What a result means
A result shows what the people who took part think right now. It does not claim to represent the world, to prove a cause, or to confirm that each account is a unique person. Methodology explains how results are counted, and the Constitution sets out the commitments we keep.
Every reflection adds a voice. Start with the question on advanced AI and add your reflection.
