Constitution

Version 1.2, in force from 10 October 2026.

These are the commitments Humanity Asks keeps. They apply to every question, every result and every plan we sell.

1. Participation is free

Answering a public question, seeing its result, keeping your history, downloading your data and deleting your account are free.

2. Money does not buy influence

Circles and organization plans fund the service. No payment buys a different answer, a hidden edit, or extra weight in a public result. Current prices are published on Transparency.

3. Every vote is real

  • We never add invented votes or fabricated activity.
  • Each account has one current answer per question version. A new answer replaces the current one, and earlier answers stay in a private history.
  • Confirming an email or passing a human-verification check does not prove that an account is one unique person, and we do not claim that it does.

4. Results are counted honestly

  • How strongly you hold a position is recorded and never weights a vote.
  • No opinion is an answer and is counted. Skipping a question records no answer.
  • Every result is tied to one question version. Percentages are shares of the current answers, and an option nobody has chosen shows zero.
  • The public count and the count among confirmed accounts overlap. They are never added together.

5. People publish the questions

AI tools may help draft a question or a translation. A person reviews it and decides whether to publish it. When the meaning of a question changes, a new question version begins, so results are never mixed across meanings.

6. Separate spaces stay separate

  • Public, circle and organization answers are stored apart.
  • A circle answer never adds a public vote.
  • An organization answer adds a public vote only when the person who gave it chooses to add it to Pulse. The organization never sees who did.
  • A circle result appears from 5 answers. An organization result for everyone appears from 10, and a question asked of one group from the number that group sets, which starts at 10 and can be from 2 to 2000. None of them shows who chose which answer.
  • These thresholds are not a guarantee of anonymity.

7. Answers are not for sale

  • We do not sell individual answers.
  • We do not use answers for political microtargeting.
  • We do not use answers to train AI models.
  • We do not run advertising or third-party analytics on Humanity Asks.

8. Your data is yours

You can download your answers and history and delete your account at any time. Deleting removes your personal data. Your public answers stay in the results as anonymous votes that cannot be linked to you. Privacy explains how.

9. Mistakes are corrected in the open

Anyone can challenge a page, a translation or a count through Contact. Each correction to published content is listed with its date in the corrections log on Transparency.

Changes to this Constitution

This Constitution changes only through a new published version with its own number and date. Version 1.2 is in force. Version 1.1 replaced version 1.0 so that a person can add their own organization answers to Pulse. Version 1.2 replaced version 1.1 so that a question asked of one group uses the number of answers that group sets.
